These are sophisticated desserts gaily decked in holiday trim (nuts, berries, bark). Think caramel apple dumplings with chipotle cheddar crust; blond parsnip cake with cream cheese frosting and crystallized basil; mallomars with cocoa macarons, ancho caramel ganache, and dark chocolate glaze.
